Hydrocolloid wound dressing contains gel-forming agents (carboxymethylcellulose, pectin, or gelatin) in its composition. It gels by absorbing the fluids emerging from the wound and allows rapid healing by preventing the wound from drying out and maintaining its moisture. Self-adhesive and flexible. Prevents the passage of water and bacteria to the wound. Adheres to intact skin, does not adhere to the wound. Can be used in non-infected low and medium exuding wounds such as bed sores and leg ulcers.
